Any small luminous dot appearing in the cloudless portion of the night sky, especially with a fixed location relative to other such dots. A luminous celestial body, made up of plasma particularly hydrogen and helium and having a spherical shape. Depending on context the sun may or may not be included. A concave polygon with regular, pointy protrusions and indentations, generally with five or six points.
A simple dance, or part of a dance, where a group of four dancers each put their right or left hand in the middle and turn around in a circle. You call them right-hand stars or left-hand stars, depending on the hand which is in the middle.
Where else could so many who have contributed so little to better society be paid so much? The arrogance, superiority and hypocrisy of these overrated people is astounding.
Many campaign against guns while enjoying the protection of armed security guards. Most favor abortion rights while clamoring for compassionate treatment of the weakest among us. They endorse same-sex marriage while marrying members of the opposite sex multiple times, mocking the practice Streep is a notable exception. There was one redeeming moment at the Golden Globes. It was the tribute to Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher, who died last month one day apart.
There is a difference between a celebrity and a star. Many old films are watchable today. Some are considered classics. It is not this information that I personally find surprising, however it is the fact that the beautiful, though plastic, face of Paris Hilton embraces the viewer after the renowned Beckham. In other words, Celebrities usually are the pretty face of a campaign or popular fiction and a very qualified multimedia Personal Assistant is behind them, guiding them and making the right decisions on behalf of their client. A Star in the digital age, in my personal opinion, is a much rarer, talented individual who becomes famous because of an unusual or extra ordinary talent. Such as, in popular culture, an artist.
Where we used to find sheer talent and class as a celebrity and someone who would be looked up to; celebrities are now more recently seen as people we frequently see published in the media via digital devices. Again, these are celebrities who have become famous by being famous. There just isnt as many stars to be found, even though talent shows try to mold them.
